Europe may not particularly stand out as a 'green continent'. But it may well become one, and its future is in our hands.

The European climate ranges from snowy Scandinavia to the Alps in Central Europe and warm temperatures of the Mediterranean Sea. All European ecosystems have one thing in common, though: they're under severe pressure as a result of climate change and human development.

This month’s issue showcases personal stories about the nature we grew up with or have come to love, our relationship to nature, and the effects of climate change on our social, political and natural environment.
